Contact Camp Week 1

Build Skill. Gain Confidence. Play Fearless.

Making the jump to full-contact hockey can be a game-changer, and we're here to make sure it's the right kind of change. This program is built specifically for incoming 14U players, helping them develop the skills, awareness, and mindset to handle body contact safely and confidently.

Through a structured progression of checking, angling, and battle drills, players will learn how to both give and receive contact the right way — with control, purpose, and respect for the game.

🧠 Build awareness. Learn to read pressure, protect the puck, and position yourself for success.

💪 Develop physical confidence. Engage in contact situations in a safe, coached environment.

🏒 Compete hard. Compete smart. Learn to win battles and play through traffic with poise.

By the end of the summer, players will leave this camp with the tools to compete in full-contact practices and games with confidence and control.

Led by experienced instructors: Jason Gour, Harry Golden, and Shawn Rafferty — trusted names in player development.

Program Details:

• Focus: teaching safe and effective techniques for delivering and receiving checks, as well as improving physical skills like body positioning, angling, and puck protection
• Format: Practice will be station-based contact drills focusing on timing, positions, circumstances, and situations for each check and their optimal results. We will also work on small-area games and battle drills.
• Coaching: Led by knowledgeable coaches offering individual attention
• Equipment: Full hockey gear required

Note: Arrive early to be ready for a prompt start. Bring your own water bottle.
